NO WAR, THE WORLD WANT PEACE : Rajeshri Senapati Gogoi

NO WAR, THE WORLD WANT PEACE

Rajeshri Senapati Gogoi

The earth is wide, the sky is deep,
With promises we meant to keep.
Yet shadows fall on fertile ground,
Where anguish is the only sound.
Why must we trade the golden light,
For hollow carnage in the night?
The map is marked by lines of fear,
While aching hearts, both far and near,
Cry out in grief: "Let armor fall,
We want a peace to heal us all."
The world is weary, lost in pain,
Drenched in a sorrow like the rain.
It begs to end the cruel strife,
To cherish every spark of life.
No more the fury, no more the tears,
No more the terror of the years.
Let borders fade like morning haze,
As hope ignites our brighter days.
The peace we seek is not a dream,
But woven in the living stream.
With yearning souls, we make our start,
We want peace, with all our heart.
