The Word : MAJROOH RASHID
MAJROOH RASHID
Who could be
the stonemason
who inscribed
the name on the rough stone
that shone
like the autumn moon
though
the writ of the night ran tough?
As the night
grew
darker and denser
the word
carved
in the rock illumined
and drank
the dark
in one draught.
Though the morning
sang
beautifully
pain
poured out
from every word
that came ringing
out its lips.
