LEADEN EYES : Khursheed Wani

LEADEN EYES

Khursheed Wani

With a broken wing,
Like a hapless swan
she gasps for air,
mourning in silence.

In this very breath, alas,
she's not here;
her lips sealed,
caught in the tempest.
With eyes unclouded,
I behold her leaden eyes.
