A commemorative anniversary programme was held today at Boys Higher Secondary School, Handwara, to honour the life and legacy of late educator and social worker Ghulam Ahmad Kumar of Wadipora Handwara.

Organised by a committed team of community members and colleagues, the event witnessed the presence of students, teachers, civil society representatives, and well-wishers who gathered to pay tribute to Kumar’s remarkable contributions in the field of education and grassroots social service.

The programme included emotional speeches, a documentary presentation highlighting his life and work, and personal reflections from those who had closely worked with him. Speakers praised his unwavering dedication to uplifting the underprivileged and his lifelong commitment to nurturing and mentoring young minds.

Farooq Shaheen, one of the organisers, expressed gratitude to the attendees and the media for their presence, stating that the event served as a reminder of Kumar Sahab’s enduring values of compassion, selflessness, and community service.
